Hello to everyone! In today’s article, we will discuss the answers to the “favorite music” question we ask 100 random people.
Music; It is an abstract and invisible art branch that does not age or wear out. So much so that poems and songs written years ago can be effective even now.

Favorite music genres
We learned 11 favorite music genres from 100 people. It’s your turn to learn!
19 out of 100 people said Rock was their favorite music.
The term Rock’s Roll was first used in 1951 by a Cleveland DJ named Alan Freed, influenced by the lyrics “My baby rocks me with a steady roll” in the song “Sixty Minute Man” by the Dominoes band.
Rock music changes every day. Names such as Jerry Lewis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and of course Elvis Presley have made great contributions to the development of rock music in America. These are the first names that brought this rebellion to rock music, which is essentially a rebellious music.

Rhythmic American / African Poetry (RAP) is thought to originate in the New York area known as the ghetto in the early 1970s.
Musicians started a new music trend by mixing Jazz, R&B (Rhythm and Blues) and Funk music, creating a rhythm (musical background) and singing on it.

We can go back to 1239 for the first pop music. The song “Sumer is Icumen in”, thought to date from 1239, is the oldest example of the pop music genre.
4- Hip Hop
13 out of 100 people said Hip Hop was their favorite music.
Hip Hop was born in the Bronx area of New York in the 1970s. Although not the first of its kind, the song “Rapper’s Delight”, made in 1979, was considered the first hip hop song.
5- Heavy Metal
11 out of 100 people said Metal was their favorite music.
Heavy Metal’s starting point is the British working class. When the factory shifts ended, workers gathered in bars, formed small local bands and played music before heading home. The word “Heavy Metal” was first used in 1968 in the lyrics of Steppenwolf’s song “Born To Be Wild”.
Nine out of 100 people said R&B was their favorite music.
It is an African-American musical genre that has been popular since the 1940s. The term “Rhythm & Blues” (R&B) was first coined in 1948 by music reporter and record producer Jerry Wexler.
6 out of 100 people said Trap was their favorite music.
It is a music style that includes aggressive sounds and lyrics.
It is not known exactly who started the music that mostly appeared on local streets. Music that started in the 1990s became almost completely popular in the 2000s.
4 out of 100 people said Reggae was their favorite music.
It is a music genre that emerged in Jamaica towards the end of the 1960s and spread rapidly. It was widely perceived as the voice of the oppressed.
9- Classic Music
3 out of 100 people said Classic Music was their favorite music.
The first classical music works were religious works. People who are part of nature but are afraid of nature made music with prayers. Perhaps classical music had not been written in more than a thousand years. In 600 AD, the first Pope Gregorius, known as the Grand Pope, created a musical system and gave the notes their original form.
10- K Pop
2 out of 100 people said it was K-Pop’s favorite music.
The origins of the genre date back to the 90’s when South Korean pop music was called ‘Gayo’. In 1992, his name started to be heard thanks to Seo Taiji and Boys groups.
Today, BTS (also known as the Bangtan Boys) is the most popular K-Pop group in history.
11- Goa Trance
1 out of 100 people said that Goa Trance was their favorite music.
It is a sub-genre of the trans music genre, which was founded in the 1990s and continues to develop today. Composed of 11 different sub-genres, trance music is widely listened to by certain segments, although it is not very popular today.

As you can see on our list, we asked 100 people what your favorite music was; They said that 19 Rock, 17 Rap, 15 Pop, 13 Hip Hop, 11 Metal Music were their favorite music.
The remaining 25 people said that various styles of music such as Trap, Reggae, K-pop and classic are their favorite music.
When we look at the results, it is indisputable that although the common point of the participants is music, their tastes differ in terms of music style.
